Ever wonder what the difference is between the Township’s Future Land Use Map and the Zoning Map? You’re not alone!
👉 The Future Land Use Map is part of the Master Plan and shows the Township’s long-term vision for growth (10–20 years).
👉 The Zoning Map reflects what is legally allowed on properties right now.
⚠️ Important: The Future Land Use Map does not automatically change zoning. Any zoning change must go through a public rezoning process, including review by the Planning Commission and approval by the Township Board.
🏡 What does this mean for residents?
✔️ Current zoning stays in place unless officially changed
✔️ Development must follow existing zoning regulations
✔️ There are multiple opportunities for public input
